The Alhambra Institute for
Mental Retardation Research

The Alhambra Institute for Mental Retardation Research is a non-profit Ohio corporation founded in 1985, and dedicated to the support of research in developmental disabilities. All funds raised are given in grants for research in this area. Grants go directly to selected universities, medical schools, and individual researchers in various disciplines, in the United States and Canada. Recipients are selected for gifts and endowments for the high quality of their programs, research efforts and focus on mental retardation and developmental disabilities.

Several thousand dollars have already been awarded, but more is needed to aid additional research projects which will develop new techniques, procedures and clinical skills for the medical, social and psychological communities. Your gift will also aid in endowing professorships in major universities to encourage new research.

Your gift, in any amount, is fully tax deductible and will help children with developmental disabilities and those yet to be born (some 100,000 annually). Your gift becomes part of the Institute's pooled income fund which enables us to give strategic support to ongoing research programs and encourage the start up of needed new research.

The Alhambra Institute for Mental Retardation Research can use your time and energy. If you wish to be a research associate or a volunteer, there is lots for you to do.
